Military / Mental Health Awareness

As a U.S. Navy veteran, a student pursuing my B.A. at Rollins College, a mother of two, and a content creator at a local small business marketing firm, my journey into art has been a profound source of healing and self-expression. Growing up, I was fortunate to receive artistic guidance from my grandfather, igniting my passion for painting, particularly with mediums such as Acrylic, Gouache, and Watercolor.

My branch of service in the U.S. Navy instilled discipline, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for the world's diverse cultures. However, during my time in the service, I first discovered the therapeutic power of painting. Art became my refuge, offering solace and an escape from the challenges of military life. It provided a means to convey my emotions and experiences, as a visual diary of my journey or a creative outlet for my instinct to create.

My artistry can be defined as a form of healing, a medium through which I process and transcend life's complexities. It allows me to express the intricate layers of my identity – a Navy veteran, a mother, a student – in a way that words alone cannot capture. Through each brushstroke and color palette, I find catharsis and renewal, a sanctuary where I can reflect, grow, and heal. My art is not merely a hobby but a profound and transformative journey that continues to shape my identity and purpose.
